Russian Servers for torrent downloads:

• http://rutracker.org/ - (former torrents.ru) - the most popular source of any downloadable content in Russia and all ex-Soviet republics. Domain name TORRENTS.RU was suspended in 2010 because of judicial decision. The domain name then was changed to RUTRACKER.ORG. This site owners respect copyright laws, and any rightholder can ask to stop leeching his content. For example, some Microsoft releases and many top-rated movies are forbidden. All movie and book releases must have Russian translation or at least Russian subtitles.
• http://free-torrents.org/ - this site was founded by one of former TORRENTS.RU team members, who disagreed with the decision to collaborate with rightholders. You can download almost any content from this site - from beta-version Microsoft products with cracks to stolen workprint copies of latest movies. The site politics with English language is very similar to RUTRACKER. FREE-TORRENTS still has less amount of torrent files then RUTRACKER, so I search the rarest content on rutracker.org and use free-torrents.org only to download software and latest movies.

Which site for which material?

• Software - 90% FREE-TORRENTS.ORG, 10% RUTRACKER.ORG - for the rarest of it and freeware (because sometimes it is simplier to download from torrent server, that to search freeware on Internet)
• Movies - 70% FREE-TORRENTS.ORG, 30% RUTRACKER.ORG - RUTRACKER still has a great amount of movies, but many movies are banned there because of rightholder decisions
  
• Music - 90% RUTRACKER.ORG, 10% FREE-TORRENTS.ORG - RUTRACKER has a HUGE collection of music of any genre, and rightholders rarely ban music downloads
  
• Books - 95% RUTRACKER.ORG, 5% FREE-TORRENTS.ORG - same sutuation as it is with music downloads
